Thank goodness it was our petrol-head bus driver's day off. We had a lovely local driver who could swallow his road rage and need for speed, and was content to cruise leisurely around the corners at a pace comfortable for all us passengers who experience sudden fits of travelsickness. One tip - don't look down!
Our trip over Troll's Pass was punctuated by plenty of stops. Around every corner was a gorgeous backdrop for us to photogragh and, of course, to pose in-front of. Many more screen-savers were to come, but we will save the slideshow for when we get home :)
After such a long morning of driving we stopped at a pretty little wharf to catch a cruise around the Geiranger Fjords. We relaxed by sipping coffee at a gorgeous little cafe which took great pride in being mentioned in the lonely planet guide. Despite being surrounded by such blant self-promotion we were able to take yet another photo with a gorgeous background.
Luckily, neither of us have a particular love for canal and river cruises and for most of the trip we have opted to do other activities. However, it has to be said that the hour and a half cruising the fjords passed very quickly and we enjoyed every minute of it. It was an awesome way to see the true scale of the surrounding mountains and vast bodies of crystal-clear water.
Nevertheless we were quite relieved to reach solid ground, before catching a quick ferry back to the coach.

And before catching said ferry, don't think for one second that we passed up an opportunity to pose for a few more photos with such a magnificant backdrop. Snow-capped mountains and gorgeous fjords with the ever-present sun made our camera oh so entertaining for the duration of the wait.
Now you've heard a lot about the snow-capped mountains (and i daresay you'll probably hear a fair bit more before this trip is over) but imagine actually having a snowfight on a beautiful summer's day. Unbelievable? Well i guess anything is possible in Norway.... A 5 minute photo stop blew out to a full half an hour snowfight as over-excited Aussies had there first chance to play in the snow. It was a group effort but before the tour leader had managed to round u all up for the trip home I daresay we had all managed to get completely drenched from the ice.
